Road Maintenance. VDOT maintains Roanoke County roads that are listed in the state system, including repairs, paving, snow removal and construction. Private roads in the county that are not in the state system are the responsibility of the homeowners or developers along that road. Report a road problem to VDOT by completing an Online Work Request.

ARLINGTON – Work is underway to rehabilitate the North Glebe Road (Route 120) bridge over Pimmit Run, according to the ia Department of Transportation.. The bridge was originally built in 1973 and currently carries about 13,000 vehicles a day. The improvements will extend the overall life of the bridge and improve safety for drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians.

Property owners must make the repair or replacement in a timely manner. A VDOT permit is required before any work can be performed that affects a state-maintained road. VDOT does not perform maintenance in cities, towns, or the counties of Henrico or Arlington, except on interstates and major primary roads. In those instances, you will need to submit your claim to those entities using their claim process. Also, VDOT does not administer claims involving contractors working on VDOT projects.
