Within middle of 19th century the iron and steel industry in the country developed so much that output of the industry equaled three-fourths of world production. The industrial revolution and subsequent inventions of different new steel producing techniques, like Bessemer, Gilcrist- Thomas, enabled the country to raise its production rapidly.
