For some applications, the compressed tungsten powder/metal mix is so strong after compession, that it doesn't need to be sintered. Also, tungsten powder is very hard, so it tends to clump together and won't flow through the machinery very well and scratches the dies, and the addition of the copper/nickel/etc makes it less abrasive.

Ive had good success with mixing some tungsten powder with Oatey 4oz epoxy putty. Since the putty is a sticky firm epoxy, I was able to mix with tungsten powder, form a ball, and then use a pusher rod to push the ball mix firmly to the bottom of the shaft.

I ended up re-building the exact same club, and even with a 10g tip weight, I had a hard time getting it back up to the swing weight it was from the factory. I did what others suggested and used normal epoxy for gluing the head and then I put a mixture of epoxy and tungsten powder down the shaft before I put the tip weight in.
