Now, what's great about cutting these joints on the band saw is that you only have to draw a single lengthwise layout line atop just the mortise workpiece.

به خواندن ادامه دهیدThe tenon will be perfectly centered. Leaving the test cut a little fat, you can then sneak up on the exact finished thickness of the tenon. If running several identical tenons, you can have at it one after the next without any further adjustments and you will be able to fit your tenons to your mortises right off the saw.

به خواندن ادامه دهیدI use this method with some small changes. 1. - I use a miter sled to cut to length and then the tenon cheeks which is quick, fast, accurate and safe. 2. - I cut the tenons on the band saw using a removable block so the reference edge of the piece is always up against the fence.
