I'm currently getting a Denford Micromill 2000 up and running. I'm currently trying for tooling and toolholding, so it's difficult to judge how well it'll cut stuff like aluminium. Given the types of projects on Sherline's site though, I'm pretty sure that aluminium is inside its capabilities.

Replied by andypugh on topic MPS MicroMill 2000HD/LE. 1/8 hp = 100W. So a 1500W spindle would be a _lot_ more powerful. The 0.8KW would be 8 x more powerful and might be a better match for the machine. Playing around in FSWizard on my phone, for a 10mm cutter you would typically use 13,000 rpm and would need 1.5 Hp.
