Generally, if you want to make a nice quiet power sluice or recirculator, a 12 volt electric pump is recommended. These pumps are submerged and make no noise. If you prefer a high banker with high pressure spray bars, you are going to need a gas-powered pump. Keep in mind that a pump delivers less water as your equipment location is moved uphill.

Your high banker will need standard riffles, with miners moss as a lining underneath them. You will also need adjustable legs for the high banker to sit on. There are a variety of adjustable leg designs, but the legs need to be stable and strong. Because of the weight of wet wood, I strongly advise using sheet aluminum for your high banker.

high bankers are for working high banks and sluices are for working in the stream. where is the pay dirt? It is silly to scoop up material from the creek and lift it two or three feet up into a banker. in the creek you can pick boulders and use a stiff rake up stream of the sluice to get the rocks out and direct the flow into your box.

Gold is very dense - heavy for it's size. It settles on the bottom of the sluice box in places where the water slows down. There are various designs to make this happen. A Highbanker is a sluice box on a stand, with a built in "grizzly" (grating) to reject oversize gravel, and a water attachment for the sluice and maybe spraying the grizzly.
