The effect of contact time on the extraction percentage of Au(III) with monoamides was carried out. Fig. 1 shows the extraction percentage (%E) of Au(III) in 3 M hydrochloric acid solutions with 0.4 M of MBHA, DHOA or DHEHA in 80% dodecane - 20% isooctyl alcohol as a function of the shaking time.It was found that the %E for Au(III) did not change from 5 to 60 min.
