The quarry at Bukit Batok was known as the Poh Kim Quarry and began mining granite immediately after World War 2, blasting away at the western slope of Hill 345 or Bukit Batok hill. Poh Kim Quarry was one of the 9 or 10 quarries that operated in the greater Bukit Timah area.
