The mine's training plan has to follow MSHA standards, but does not need to be MSHA certified. CFR Part 48 Subpart A is for Training and Retraining of Miners engaged both with Metal/Non-Metal underground mining which is a 40 hour class. This course is to be taught by a certified MSHA instructor.
