It is a retrofit of a spindle with a built in motor. That does not really make sense because the grinder has a 2B label and 2B was a manual machine from the factory. Since there are no power feeds, and the replacement motor/spindle is self contained, any and all of the original spindle drive components can be ignored and/or removed.
