CO 2 laser engraving machine are ideally suitable for engraving and marking of stone tiles (such as granite or marble). They are characterised by very high precision and thus, enable laser engraving of razor-sharp images and fine markings. My brother has a small CnC machine he made and some skill with CAD. He does custom stone stuff. Art/dishware/counters etc. The stone is from a quarry nearbye. It was one of the only soapstone quarries in the world until fairly recently when it's owners shuttered it. I used to work there as well.
